Hi my name is JoLene i am a recently divorced single mother an survivor of domestic abuse, however i am disabled; for now, im fighting back with a team of dr's working on my spine to get me back on my feet asap! im am in a very precarious situation since my divorce after 2yrs of living with an abusive husband my sons father decided to kidnapp him an take me to court for sole custody, an he fights dirty! he has tried to get all my resources taken away with lies so that he can prove me unfit, he is trying to make it imossible for me to care for my 4 children by getting our financial aid/food/medical taken away, an my housing assistance an last he has contacted my landlord to have him refuse to let me stay past jan 31st.since my lease became month to month, now i have an amazing attorney who is fighting on my behalf against everything including every wrench my ex throws into this custody battle. i had to take my 3yr old son to the E.R. last week with bruises he said his dad gave him the owies, but this man works with the police department an prides himself on how well he plays politics so it is going nowhere, in the meantime i have found a different house but the leasing agent/landlord requires the security deposit by feb 1 to hold the house till my housing authority can get me transferred an inspect an approved for them to make the payments to the landlord on my behave so i have no worries about affording the house after i scure it. if their are any angels out there that can help in anyway so we dont end up on the street in a week plz contact me via email just31mine@gmail.com i can provide proof of everything the agency that handles leasing/maintenance/management for the landlords can be reached directly by googling deltarep.com an has a pay direct online option i wld have to give the address but not on here for safety sake, like i said anything will help i just cant afford to loose this house or i will lose my son/kids an that is not an option they are my life! thanks for reading an God Bless!

In fact, sugar is the major cause of most sickness, since it is poison, and kicks the heck out of our immune systems! I'm so glad the green tea and stevia help you! That happens to me every once in a while too..I got a little bummed because the past two days I saw an increase of 6 ounces but then realized that I had stopped drinking all the water..I made myself drink the required glasses today and we will see what the scale says tmw..Ive found drinking some green tea with the sweetner completely takes care of any cravings when I cook for my family. I tried to eliminate boxed and packaged sweets so I must endure the baking treats for them since Im the one who got myself into this by telling them they need to eat healthier, homemade snacks! There are a lot of people here who need help so I'm not terribly hopeful, but here goes. I am mentally ill. I have type II bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder which partially manifests as hoarding disorder. I have hoarded objects, not animals. I have 5 cats, which some may think is "a lot of cats" but it does not qualify as animal hoarding. I am working on the hoarding problem but it is an uphill battle. Sometimes I do better than others.
In spite of my mental illness, I do work. I make well above minimum wage, as I make $17 an hour. I work 32 hours a week. This is about all I can do without it making me extremely depressed or physically sick. I also have fibromyalgia and sciatica as well as asthma and mild hypertension.
I fall into a marginalized category. Because I make the salary I do, I do not qualify for food stamps. However, once taxes and insurance are taken out of my pay, I only take home about $1400 a month. I am in an upside down mortgage in a mobile home and my credit is damaged. Thus refinancing seems to be out of the question--no-one will touch me. Between mortgage and lot rent, I pay $1100 a month.
My mother has helped me out for several years with utility bills. I do not eat much except at work. I get things like cheese whiz and crackers and canned fruit juice or jello that does not need refrigeration when I am at home as I do not have a working refrigerator.
Last year my mobile home incurred very bad damage when the water heater started leaking and I didn't know it until my son realized that the carpet in the hall was wet. The walls and floors of 3 rooms had to be removed. Overall the repairs cost over $20,000. My mother helped out with this. But she is stuck with my late father's medical bills and really can't help any more. I am ashamed to ask her for help anyway.
I do not have working plumbing except in the bathroom sink. Fortunately I am able to shower and wash my clothes at work. I do not have much in the way of furniture but I'm not so worried about that.
I still owe $43,000 on this horrible 15% mortgage, which I have had for 10 years. The original mortgage was $45,000. You can see that I am mostly paying interest. I am in a no-win situation.
I just got through paying off a bunch of payday loans that I had to take out when I was doing a month unpaid internship to obtain my LPN license last April. I also maxed out my credit cards. I still owe about $1200 in credit card bills. This destroyed my credit, which I had worked very hard to build back up to a passable score.
I have medical issues which I have not been able to afford to take care of and I have not been to a dentist in 6 years.
I feel very depressed most of the time and think about suicide every day. I am not a lazy person but I have had a lot of barriers to my success in my life.
It seems that if I had nothing at all there would be some resources from me. But since I am working and have this mobile home I fall into the Twilight Zone where no-one can or will help me.

I know. It is sooooo hard to cook or bake for others when you are not allowed to have any! But, when you are in the zone, you are in the zone!

in response to georgette7...Thanks, Georgette. I do think it helps when people can see it is a real need, and that it goes directly to pay that need, instead of just a random person's account. Scammers have been here and tricked people into giving them lots of money in the past. We've lost many good contributors because of that. When new contributors join, and ask me how to tell which people have real needs, a good rule of thumb is seeing that some needs are real and having proof (like when the bill is paid directly.) so you have a good point.

in response to georgette7...What I am saying is that money is not often exchanged here in any way (direct gifts, grants, paying of bills, etc...) I understand you are asking for tax help. Everyone seems to be struggling right now, especially this time of year. Many are disabled, homeless, have no food, etc....
We have no idea which contributors happen to be reading the posts and are financially able and willint to help. Sometimes this does happen, but most of the time, we try to swap helpful info, resources for help through different organizations, etc...(usually the people who need help the very most are helped in those cases)
We have no access to any cash other than whatever we each earn via our own jobs.
Many times people have the misconception that we work for a large corporation and are able to distribute funds from a large account.

I was losing my house when I found this site. I was not sure what it was at first. I have never been given a grant here. I found out the people here help one another as they can. Some have been given cash assistance by other members, but mostly I see people giving one another support and information. Many contributors have taken the time to research different topics and are able to point others in the right direction for help.

Does anyone know of a place to consolidate debts for persons with bad credit. I would even consider peer to peer lending if there are any wealthy individuals willing to help a single, graduate student, with a full time job. I've suffered some financial misfortunes but I'm trying to get back on track. I need about $50,000 and I can comfortably pay be $450 - $550 per month. Please help in any way that you can and it will be greatly appreciated.

in response to JayJay62389...We have all made mistakes with credit cards, you are not alone. First off, regardless of what the credit card companies collections tells you, they can not just seize your check. This is a threat they use very often even though it is against federal law. The company needs to sue you first. Due to the level of balance on the card this would take place in small claims court. The court proceeding would take no more than 20 minutes and a judgment will be filed against you. However, even with the judgement, they have to wait 30 days to execute on the judgement. During this time you can actually sit down and negotiate a deal to pay towards your debt that fits within your budget.
It is a minimum of 40 days from the date you are served with the lawsuit until they can even think about touching your paycheck. (I've been down this road before so I speak from experience.)
As for the hospital bill, send them $25 a month until you can pay more. As long as you send them something each month, they won't bother you. (Again, I've been down this road as well.)
I owe a lot of money in taxes and I'll never get out of debt without a better job. I need to go to school but I don't know if I can get a loan since I owe so much. Any ideas?

So sorry to hear of your troubles! I can SO relate. I also lost my job Dec 2009, with that and a divorce a year later, I lost everything. One thing I have learned through my journey of what I call "the other side", is do what you must even if it means getting out of a 1300 dollar a month home, and moving into a 600 dollar a month home, or in my case, move into Government housing. Also, keep in mind, although it feels like life is kicking you down everyday something else piles up on your list of "behind bills", your life will not be like this forever. As long as you are strong and try to stay as positive as you can, you WILL pull yourself out! (I DO know that not everyday you can be strong, so cry when you need to!)
I am hear if you need a shoulder to cry on. I hope that you find help here, but not just help that is going to get you out of trouble for the month, but that will be there with good advice that will lead you out of trouble for years!

I am a single mother who lost her job 4 months ago. I had some money in savings and had some help from family members, but I am now without any outside help. I got a job recently, but am looking for a second job because the first job doesn't cover my bills. I live with my 22 yr old son who can't work because he has an autoimmune disorder and gets sick all the time when around groups of people.
I was not able to pay my rent this month of $1350 and February's rent is right around the corner. I am petrified of eviction because I have no family or friends to live with temporarily until I turn my situation around. If there is anyone out there that could help me and my son out, I would be graciously indebted.

in response to hoffa...HCG is fairly cheap and fast, although, to make it work, you do need to do it for a minimum of 23 doses, I think (3 doses a day). Another one that totally works is low carb. I have to run right now, but will be back soon...

I am recently separated and need help with a deposit and one month's rent in the yukon area. I never dreamed I would be in this situation but I have no where to go. I will be starting school February 1 and pray I can get settled somewhere before then. I have no family here in this area and would like to keep my children here until they finish.
